The Wolf Among Us is an episodic graphic adventure game developed and published by Telltale Games, based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series. The game consists of five episodes, released between October 2013 and July 2014.

The Wolf Among Us received critical acclaim upon release, with reviewers praising the game’s faithfulness to the source material, as well as its choice-based gameplay mechanics. However, the game was also subject to some criticism, primarily for its technical issues.

The first episode of The Wolf Among Us was released on October 11, 2013, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The fourth episode was released on July 8, 2014, for the same platforms. The fifth and final episode was released on July 22, 2014, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and iOS.

The Wolf Among Us was developed by Telltale Games, who had previously worked on similar games based on popular licenses such as Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and The Walking Dead. The team sought to create a game that would be accessible to both fans of the Fables comics and those who were not familiar with the series.

The game is set in the comic book universe of Bill Willingham’s Fables, which follows the lives of various fairy tale and folklore characters who have been forced to take refuge in our world. The Wolf Among Us is a prequel to the comic book series, taking place prior to the first issue.

The player controls Bigby Wolf, the former Big Bad Wolf, who has been reformed and now serves as the sheriff of Fabletown — a secret community in New York City inhabited by these characters. When two murders occur within the community, it is up to Bigby to solve them. The game features a choice-based gameplay system, allowing the player to affect the story through their choices.

The game is played from a third-person perspective, and the player is able to move Bigby around the environment and interact with characters and objects. The game employs a choice-based gameplay system, in which the player is presented with multiple choices that will affect the course of the story.

The Wolf Among Us was nominated for several awards, winning several of them. In 2014, it won the BAFTA Award for Best Story, and was also nominated for the Game of the Year award.

I have only just now picked up the game to play it, but so far, I am loving it. Its dark, gritty noire tone is reminiscent of all the dark detective shows we all loved from that time (True Detective, Bosch, etc.). If you love a good story, this game might be for you.

Have you played it yet? Let me know down in the comments what you thought of it!

I might be back with a full review of the game once I’ve played it through, so stay tuned for that. Until then, feel free to check out all my other posts on TV, film, and games in the following list:
